A story about a little boy named Billy who saves two tadpoles from an old creek bed about to go dry. Billy and his friends Whurly the clumsy dragonfly, Slowpoke the red eared turtle and Ol' Bufford Bass join together on a mission to save these two tadpoles and keep them safe until they transform into frogs.
Billy names the frogs Mr. & Mrs. Mahaffy and releases them at Wisdom Pond in Tranquility Park. After the winter months Billy and all his friends meet once again at Wisdom Pond to find that the Mahaffys have hundreds of tadpoles of their own.
One tadpole named Jeffrey Mahaffy grows up to be a very wise and magical guitar pickin’ singin' frog who helps children cope with their problems (In the up-coming second book) and shows the children that things are not as bad as they sometimes seem.
